Easy Homemade Rotisserie Chicken

Juicy, buttery rotisserie chicken cooked on the grill with simple spices. Crispy skin outside and tender meat inside — perfect for family dinners and meal prep.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole chicken 3 pound
  • Pinch of salt for cavity
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1/4 tablespoon black pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat grill to high heat and oil grates.
  2. Season inside of chicken with salt.
  3. Tie legs and wings, then secure on rotisserie rod.
  4. Cook on high heat for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix butter, salt, paprika and pepper.
  6. Reduce grill to medium heat and baste chicken.
  7. Cook 1 to 1½ hours, basting occasionally.
  8. Cook until internal temperature reaches 180°F.
  9. Remove and rest 10–15 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • Pat chicken dry for crispy skin
  • Rest before cutting to keep juices inside
  • Baste every 20–30 minutes for best flavor
