Easy Chicken Fajita Marinade

A simple lime, chili, and honey chicken fajita marinade that makes juicy, flavorful chicken perfect for tacos, bowls, or salads.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 3 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts cut into strips

Method
 

  1. In a bowl, whisk together oil, chili powder, lime juice, honey, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper.
  2. Place chicken strips into a resealable bag or bowl.
  3. Pour marinade over chicken and coat thoroughly.
  4. Seal and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  5. Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat.
  6. Remove chicken from marinade and discard marinade.
  7. Cook chicken 8–10 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Add cayenne pepper for extra heat
  • Substitute fresh minced garlic for garlic powder
  • Chicken thighs make a juicier option
  • Great for tacos, rice bowls, or salads
